Nornickel and BelAZ to Launch Mining Equipment Joint Venture in Krasnoyarsk
Nornickel plans to establish a joint venture with BelAZ to manufacture mining equipment in Krasnoyarsk Territory amid supply shortages. The collaboration aims to produce 150 units annually, addressing the decline in metal production linked to limited access to Western mining machinery.

Nornickel will collaborate with Belarusian company BelAZ to form a joint venture in Krasnoyarsk Territory, focusing on the production of mining equipment. The facility in Sosnovoborsk is expected to manufacture 150 units annually, with lease agreements already secured.
The partnership addresses challenges posed by the unavailability of Western equipment, which has contributed to a projected decline in metal production in 2025. Nornickel has been utilizing Chinese machinery and is enhancing its capabilities with BelAZ, having already integrated several BelAZ trucks into its operations. Additionally, Nornickel is modernizing aging equipment, planning to add ten refurbished units to its fleet this summer, with three already nearing readiness.
