North Atlantic Advances $1.75 Billion Green Hydrogen Project in Newfoundland and Labrador

HYDROGEN

North Atlantic is proceeding with its $1.75 billion green hydrogen project in the Sunnyside/Come by Chance area, which includes a 324 MW wind farm with 45 turbines and a hydrogen production plant capable of generating 30,000 tonnes of hydrogen. The water supply will be sourced from Inkster's Pond.

The project is expected to create approximately 1,200 jobs during construction. North Atlantic aims to produce economically viable green hydrogen for export, contrasting with other struggling projects in the region.

The company, based in St. John's, has also acquired the Gravenchon Refinery in France and is exploring the use of energy from Newfoundland/Labrador to replace some grey hydrogen at the facility. Final decisions on the project are anticipated by Q4 of this year.
