North Carolina Governor Stein Allocates Over $40M for Disaster Mitigation and Volunteer Grants
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein announced over $40 million in disaster relief funding, including $24 million in mitigation grants and $16 million for volunteer organizations. The grants focus on flood mitigation, infrastructure resilience, and engineering for shovel-ready projects.
Specific projects funded include wastewater treatment improvements, flood gauge installations, and community recovery efforts. Local leaders identified these needs through the American Flood Coalition's Recovery Partnership. Volunteer organizations will also assist disaster survivors by providing housing support and rebuilding efforts.
