NorthC Begins Construction of Data Center in Geneva as Veeam Acquires Object First
NorthC Group has begun construction on a 5,000 square meter data center in Geneva, its sixth facility in Switzerland, with a phased IT capacity of 4.5 MW set for completion in Q2 2028, emphasizing sustainability through innovative cooling and green energy solutions. Meanwhile, Veeam has acquired Object First to enhance its backup solutions, following its earlier purchase of Securiti AI, while Leaseweb appointed Bert Stam as managing director for the Netherlands to boost its cloud services. Additionally, Whitevision and Ortec have made strategic acquisitions to expand into the UK document processing market and the German healthcare sector, respectively.

NorthC emphasizes sustainability through waterless cooling, HVO100 backup power, and 100% green energy. Veeam has acquired Object First, a provider of integrated backup appliances with immutable storage, enhancing its ecosystem while maintaining its software-first strategy.
This acquisition follows Veeam's previous purchase of Securiti AI to bolster AI application security. Leaseweb appointed Bert Stam as managing director for the Netherlands to strengthen its cloud services and address the growing demand for hybrid cloud solutions.
Whitevision has entered the UK intelligent document processing market by acquiring Document Logistix. Ortec acquired German software developer Klages & Partner to expand its presence in the German healthcare sector.
