NorthC Begins Construction of Data Center in Geneva as Veeam Acquires Object First
NorthC Group has commenced construction of a data center in Geneva on The Hive technology campus, marking its sixth facility in Switzerland. The 5,000 square meter complex will have a phased IT capacity of 4.5 MW, set to be completed in Q2 2028.
NorthC emphasizes sustainability through waterless cooling, HVO100 backup power, and 100% green energy. Veeam has acquired Object First, a provider of integrated backup appliances with immutable storage, enhancing its ecosystem while maintaining its software-first strategy.
This acquisition follows Veeam's previous purchase of Securiti AI to bolster AI application security. Leaseweb appointed Bert Stam as managing director for the Netherlands to strengthen its cloud services and address the growing demand for hybrid cloud solutions.
