NPPD to Host Open House on March 26 for New 115kV Transmission Line in Central City
Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) will hold an open house on March 26 in Central City to discuss a new 14-mile, 115 kV transmission line project aimed at enhancing transmission capacity to meet growing demand in central Nebraska. The event, scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Solt-Wagner Community Room, will allow NPPD to gather public input and evaluate potential routes, with a virtual open house available from March 24 to April 10, 2026. Additional public meetings will be organized for further feedback.

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) will host an open house on March 26 in Central City to gather public input for a new 14-mile, 115 kV transmission line project connecting substations south of Central City and north of Aurora. This project aims to increase transmission capacity to meet rising demand in central Nebraska.
During the open house, NPPD will collect property information from landowners and engage stakeholders to evaluate potential routes. The in-person meeting will occur from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Solt-Wagner Community Room. A virtual open house will run from March 24 to April 10, 2026, with additional public meetings planned for further feedback.
