Nvidia Restructures Financing Agreement for OpenAI Data Center in Ohio
Nvidia has revised its financial guarantee for a major data center project in Ohio, decreasing its commitment from $250 billion to under $120 billion. This change addresses investor concerns regarding Nvidia's financial exposure as it seeks to stimulate demand for its AI chips.

Nvidia plans to provide a financial guarantee for the first phase of a data center project in Ohio, which will encompass approximately five gigawatts of capacity. The total project is expected to reach ten gigawatts, making it the largest data center initiative announced to date.
Nvidia's reduced guarantee is part of a new strategy to limit financial exposure while still supporting OpenAI. The financing structure aims to help OpenAI secure a lease for the facility and may also assist in chip purchases.
A deal could be finalized soon, following Nvidia's partnership with financial firms to create funding platforms for AI chip purchases. The broader implications include potential impacts on Nvidia's stock and its market position in AI infrastructure financing.
