Obuda University Secures Funding for Horizon-X Project with U.S. Partners to Develop Space Technologies

Obuda University has secured nearly 390 million forints (997,000 euros) from the HU-RIZONT program for the Horizon-X project. The initiative aims to create a transatlantic research collaboration with Rice University and Sapientia Hungarian University to advance sustainable space technologies.
Key developments include a new generation autonomous lunar rover prototype utilizing machine learning and digital twins, as well as solutions for physiological and cognitive monitoring for spacesuit workflows. The project will also enhance international partnerships through workshops, researcher mobility, and a commercialization roadmap.
