OceanPal Completes Fleet Sale to Sezali, Shifts Focus to Crypto and AI
OceanPal has divested its remaining fleet to Sezali Inc., an affiliate of Semiramis Paliou, as part of its transition to digital assets and artificial intelligence. This strategic pivot follows the company's acquisition of over 55 million NEAR tokens, positioning it for future growth despite potential cryptocurrency market volatility.

On July 31, OceanPal sold its entire stake in OP Vessel Holdco to Sezali Inc., affiliated with its former chairwoman Semiramis Paliou. The transaction included two bulk carriers, one tanker, and a stake in a Norwegian joint venture, with no cash exchanged.
Instead, OceanPal cancelled 12,185 shares of its preferred stock and $5 million in promissory notes, with a combined face value of approximately $17.19 million. OceanPal's vessels were valued at around $40.8 million at the end of 2025, although the final accounting details remain undisclosed.
Following the sale, OceanPal's focus has shifted entirely to SovereignAI Services, which manages a treasury of NEAR cryptocurrency and develops AI infrastructure. The company raised $120 million in October 2025 and aims to acquire a significant portion of NEAR tokens. However, its future is tied to the volatile cryptocurrency market and compliance with Nasdaq regulations, as it has not yet filed its 2025 annual report.
