Odata Leads Chile's Data Center Market; AWS Expands in Huesca Technology Park
Odata holds over 30% of installed data center capacity in Chile, significantly impacting regional operations. Meanwhile, AWS is set to expand its data center footprint in Huesca, with plans to occupy 60 hectares by 2029, enhancing local technological capabilities.

Odata commands more than 30% of Chile's data center capacity, primarily serving hyperscaler clients like Amazon and Microsoft. Acquired by Aligned in May 2023, Odata has plans for continued growth in response to rising infrastructure demands, particularly related to artificial intelligence.
AWS is expanding its presence in Huesca's Walqa Technology Park, approved to occupy 60 hectares for a new data center, with construction expected to last until 2029. This expansion could catalyze further technological development in the region, enhancing competitiveness against other markets. Challenges include securing necessary permits and land for new facilities, which could hinder rapid growth.
