Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg Urges Power Utilities to Ensure Quality Electricity Supply and Project Timeliness
Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg has called on power utilities to ensure a reliable and affordable electricity supply, emphasizing the need for timely project completions and better inter-departmental coordination. During a review meeting, she advocated for the implementation of pumped storage and floating solar projects, as well as the development of a 220 KV ring network to enhance supply reliability and reduce transmission losses. Garg also directed the swift execution of critical projects, including a major substation, and highlighted the importance of automating project monitoring and improving information dissemination systems.

Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg emphasized the state government's commitment to providing affordable and reliable power supply during a review meeting for the power sector. She highlighted the need for timely project completion and enhanced coordination among departments and power sector public sector undertakings.
Garg called for the implementation of pumped storage projects and floating solar photovoltaic initiatives to leverage renewable energy and maintain financial sustainability. She directed the accelerated execution of critical projects, including a 765/400 KV substation near Bishnupur, to improve supply reliability.
Additionally, Garg proposed the development of a 220 KV ring network across various regions and stressed the importance of reducing transmission losses. She urged the establishment of a robust information dissemination system and the automation of monitoring projects, including full coverage of substations under the State Transmission Asset Management System within one year.
