Odisha Identifies Diamond and Ruby Deposits in Nuapada and Kalahandi Districts
Odisha's Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena announced the identification of diamond-bearing stones in Kalamidara, Nuapada district, and rubies in Hinjilibahal-Jilingibar, Kalahandi district. Detailed feasibility assessments are being conducted for potential mining operations. Additional mineral resources, including copper, graphite, nickel, and gold, have been discovered in various districts, with ongoing studies to evaluate their viability for mining.

Odisha's Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena reported the discovery of diamond-bearing stones in Kalamidara, Nuapada district, and rubies from Hinjilibahal-Jilingibar in Kalahandi district. Ongoing technical and economic assessments are being conducted to evaluate mining feasibility.
Other mineral resources identified include copper, graphite, nickel, and gold in Deogarh district's Adasa-Rampalli area, gold and copper in Mayurbhanj district's Kuliana block, and gold in Keonjhar district's Banspal block. No gemstone mines have been established in Odisha to date.
