The OE Corinthian, the largest sailing cruise ship globally, was officially launched on April 29, 2026, in Saint-Nazaire, France. It features a length of 220 meters and a width of 25 meters, with a gross tonnage of 26,600.
Designed by Chantiers de l'Atlantique, it incorporates innovative AeolDrive masts and a semi-rigid sail system, allowing for a maximum sail area of 4,500 square meters. The ship aims for a speed of 12 knots under wind power alone, promising a significant reduction in fuel consumption.
It has a capacity of 130 passengers with 54 suites and employs dual-fuel engines for propulsion. The project reflects a shift towards hybrid vessels, returning to the shipbuilder's roots in sailing ships.
The OE Corinthian will operate charters and aims to cater primarily to hotel clientele rather than traditional cruise passengers. Its initial voyages will start in June 2026, with a focus on luxury experiences and exclusive events.
