Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority Achievements in Agriculture and Water Supply
The Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority has installed over 400 solar-powered boreholes and deployed 16 tractors to enhance agricultural productivity and water supply in the South-West region. These initiatives reflect the agency's commitment to agricultural mechanization, rural transformation, and youth empowerment, aligning with national development goals.

The Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority has installed more than 400 solar-powered boreholes and deployed 16 tractors, with an additional 60 on order, to improve agricultural efficiency and water access. Achievements include the cultivation of over 5,000 hectares of farmland and the establishment of over 100 modern greenhouse farms to support sustainable agriculture.
The authority is also developing 12 irrigation dams and has installed sprinkler systems over 50 hectares to enhance irrigation. More than 200 youths have graduated from empowerment programs, and over 1,000 individuals have received vocational tools and equipment.
The concession of the Ikere Gorge Dam for a 250 MW hydropower project aims to transform the region's energy landscape. These efforts illustrate a robust approach to rural development and economic growth, which is crucial for long-term sustainability.
