Orbital Kinetics Bureau (OKB), an Omani space technology consultancy, and US-based Launch On Demand (LOD) signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the National Space Academy. This initiative, aligned with Oman's National Space Programme and Vision 2040, aims to develop a skilled workforce to address the capability gap in Oman's space sector.

Signed at the Middle East Space Conference 2026 in Muscat, the MoU outlines frameworks for regulatory capacity building, executive leadership programs, technical training, and certification aligned with international standards. The academy seeks to certify over 500 professionals by 2028 and aims to position Oman as the GCC's center for space workforce development, following the successful Duqm-1 launch in December 2024.
