Omspace Launches Gujarat's First Sounding Rocket from Dholera
Gujarat's first sounding rocket was launched by Ahmedabad-based startup Omspace Rocket and Exploration Private Limited from Dholera. The launch took place on March 14, reaching an altitude of 3 km and testing key systems. The initiative supports the state's vision for self-reliance in space technology and aligns with the 'Make in India' approach.

On March 14, Ahmedabad-based startup Omspace Rocket and Exploration Private Limited launched Gujarat's first sounding rocket from Bavaliyari near Dholera. The single-stage sub-orbital rocket reached approximately 3 km, testing systems including propulsion and avionics.
It carried a mini-satellite for weather data collection. The launch, authorized by IN-SPACe, was supported by the Airports Authority of India and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The rocket's airframe was constructed from carbon fiber at Omspace's Ahmedabad lab, contributing to the state's goals of advancing private space sector capabilities.
