ONGC's Strategic Investment for Integrated Energy Transition by 2038
ONGC plans to invest Rs 2 lakh crore by 2038 to decarbonize and evolve into an integrated energy company. This comprehensive roadmap aims for significant emissions reductions while expanding renewable energy capabilities.

ONGC is set to invest approximately Rs 2 lakh crore by 2038 in its energy transition roadmap, which includes initiatives in renewables, green hydrogen, and carbon capture. The transition is organized into three phases: short-term (up to 2030), medium-term (2030-2035), and long-term (up to 2038).
During the short-term phase, ONGC targets 3.89 GW of renewable energy and a 50% reduction in absolute emissions. The medium-term focus includes expanding green hydrogen and ammonia capabilities. By 2038, ONGC aims for operational Net Zero for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, reflecting a strategic shift towards sustainability and energy security.
