OPEN-Fashion Initiative Modernizes Vocational Education for Sustainable Textile Production in Morocco and Tunisia

CIRCULAR ECONOMY & RECYCLING

The OPEN-Fashion initiative targets vocational education modernization in Morocco and Tunisia, integrating sustainability into the fashion and textile industries. It facilitates a dual transition of environmentally responsible production methods and digital innovation within vocational education and training (VET) systems.

The project promotes circular economy principles, resource efficiency, and reduced material waste by incorporating sustainable design practices, including 3D prototyping, into educational curricula. This aims to lower excess fabric use and minimize environmental impact.

Additionally, the initiative supports sustainable sourcing and responsible manufacturing standards. Coordinated by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona, it focuses on building educator capacity and certifying green skills through micro-credentials.
