OpenAI's Stargate Project Aims for AI Infrastructure Expansion
The Stargate Project, led by OpenAI, is set to invest $500 billion over four years to build a supercomputing network in the U.S. This initiative focuses on creating a vast array of data centers to enhance capabilities for training advanced AI models, crucial for maintaining technological leadership.

The Stargate Project will establish a network of supercomputing data centers across the U.S., with an initial investment of $100 billion for the first complexes. OpenAI manages operations while SoftBank oversees financial aspects, and NVIDIA provides hardware support.
Initial construction will take place in Texas, specifically in Abilene, with future expansions planned in Shackelford and Milam counties, New Mexico's Doña Ana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The project aims to create a robust infrastructure for the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), although AGI itself will not be created by Stargate.
The reliance on NVIDIA technology will include over 64,000 GPUs at the first site, expanding to 400,000 GPUs. This initiative not only enhances AI capabilities but also supports job creation and U.S. technological leadership, highlighting its strategic importance.
