OpenLight Raises $50 Million Series A-1 for Photonic Technology Expansion
OpenLight has secured $50 million in Series A-1 funding, totaling $84 million, to advance its photonic technologies. This investment aims to enhance its PDK library and support global sales in AI, automotive, and quantum computing sectors.

OpenLight has successfully raised an additional $50 million in a Series A-1 funding round, increasing its overall funding to $84 million. The oversubscribed round was led by Matter Venture Partners, with new investments from Acclimate Ventures and Catapult Ventures, along with existing investors including Xora Innovation and Capricorn Investment Group.
The new capital will be allocated towards the expansion of its PDK library, particularly for components like the 400G modulator and on-chip laser technology, and the development of photonic integrated circuits at 1.6T and 3.2T. The company's patented technology supports over 25 clients in applications across AI infrastructure and other sectors. This funding is expected to enhance OpenLight's global market presence and strengthen its position in the semiconductor ecosystem.
