Opposition Grows Against Michigan Datacenters Amid Low Public Support
A coalition opposing new datacenters in Michigan has formed, comprising both rightwing activists and members of the Democratic Socialists of America, amid polling that shows only 28% public support for the projects. In response, State Congressman Dylan Wegela introduced a bill to repeal datacenter tax credits, but it has few co-sponsors and is unlikely to progress, leaving construction plans largely unaffected.

In late October, a coalition opposing new datacenters in Michigan emerged, including rightwing 'Stop the Steal' activists and the Democratic Socialists of America. Polling indicated that only 28% of residents supported the new datacenters.
In response, Michigan state congressman Dylan Wegela introduced a bill aimed at repealing datacenter tax credits. However, the bill has garnered few co-sponsors and is unlikely to advance in the state house, leaving most datacenter plans on track for construction.
