The project was approved by Doña Ana County based on estimates of 750 full-time jobs. Current reports indicate 2,500 construction jobs during development. The filing is part of a lawsuit alleging violations of the Open Meetings Act by county commissioners.

Oracle's recent court filing indicates that Project Jupiter, a data center under construction in Southern New Mexico, is expected to generate at least 800 operational jobs, significantly lower than previous estimates of up to 1,500 jobs. Initially, Doña Ana County commissioners approved the project based on projections of approximately 750 full-time jobs.
The filing also states that 2,500 construction jobs are anticipated during development. The lawsuit from the New Mexico Environmental Law Center alleges that county officials violated the Open Meetings Act. Current site employment is noted as 1,250 workers.
