Santa Rosa's Orbis Electric is expanding its operations to focus on AI data center cooling, leveraging its HaloDrive Cooling Engine technology. The company plans to grow from 14,000 to 45,000 square feet in the next year, anticipating over $500 million in revenue within 24 to 30 months and a workforce of approximately 300 employees. Orbis aims to address challenges in data center cooling as power consumption is expected to rise significantly by 2030. The firm is also exploring rare-earth-free motor designs to reduce reliance on imports.

Orbis Electric, based in Santa Rosa, is expanding to meet the cooling demands of AI data centers with its HaloDrive Cooling Engine. Power consumption in data centers is projected to rise by 100 gigawatts by 2030, creating infrastructure challenges. Orbis is also working on rare-earth-free motor designs to lessen dependency on imported materials. The firm expects to demonstrate its cooling technology by the end of February 2026.
