Orbital Robotics Seeks Partners to Develop AI-Powered Robotic Arms for Space Missions
Orbital Robotics, a startup founded in late 2024 by former Blue Origin employees, is developing AI-driven robotic arms for space missions. Based in Puyallup, Washington, the company has raised $110,000 in initial funding and is collaborating with a stealth space venture on a project for the U.S.
Space Force, with demonstration missions planned over the next 18 months. The startup aims to assist NASA's Hubble Space Telescope by creating a robotic spacecraft capable of docking and boosting the telescope to a more stable orbit.
Orbital Robotics is also developing AI tools for tracking and interacting with objects in orbit, addressing challenges of Newton's Third Law of Motion. The company has built a prototype arm and is testing software for space operations, with a timeframe of 2026-2027 for upcoming missions. Orbital Robotics is open to partnerships with other companies in the space sector and plans to seek additional funding soon.
