Orwigsburg Veterans Memorial Improvements to Finish by June with USDA Grant
Improvements to the Veterans Memorial in Orwigsburg are expected to be completed by mid-June, funded by a USDA grant. Additionally, the borough council discussed the installation of new filter flow meters at the water plant, HVAC improvements costing approximately $45,900, and a capital project for replacing reactor gates and actuators. A $207,360 grant from the state will fund a new influent screen at the wastewater treatment plant, with a borough match of $36,594.

The Orwigsburg Veterans Memorial improvements are projected for completion by mid-June, funded by a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant. The borough council reported receipt of replacement filter flow meters for the water plant, with installation scheduled for this month.
HVAC upgrades at the blower building are estimated at $45,900, and a capital project has been approved for replacing seven vertical loop reactor gates and five actuators. A $207,360 grant from the state Department of Community and Economic Development will facilitate the installation of a new influent screen at the wastewater treatment plant, requiring a borough match of $36,594. The fire department reported 22 calls in January, and a dinner gala is planned for April 11.
