Oshikuku Town Council has installed 50 solar-powered streetlights in Extension 9, improving safety and reducing electricity costs. This initiative, supported by Stadt Pfungstadt and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation, aims to create a more sustainable urban environment.

Oshikuku Town Council has completed the installation of 50 solar-powered streetlights in Extension 9, enhancing public safety and reducing reliance on traditional electricity sources. This project is a collaboration with Stadt Pfungstadt, which provided technical expertise and financial support.
The Council is also building local capacity by training its technical team for maintenance of the systems. The project aligns with broader infrastructure improvements, including the planting of 100 trees and the upgrading of wastewater management systems.
Future developments include a shopping complex and a wastewater treatment plant. Ongoing challenges such as stray cattle control and waste management are being addressed through community engagement and site relocation efforts.
