Over 1,000 Vehicles Stranded in Atal Tunnel; 214 Rescued in Jammu and Kashmir Amid Heavy Snowfall
Heavy snowfall has trapped over 1,000 vehicles in the Atal Tunnel, Himachal Pradesh. In Jammu and Kashmir, a rescue operation led by the Indian Army and local police successfully evacuated 214 stranded passengers at Sinthan Pass. Adverse weather conditions caused dangerous road conditions, prompting additional rescues.

Over 1,000 vehicles were stranded in the Atal Tunnel, Himachal Pradesh, due to heavy snowfall. In Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, the Indian Army and J&K Police rescued 214 passengers trapped at Sinthan Pass, located at 13,000 feet.
The road conditions became hazardous due to snow and low visibility. A landslide in Kishtwar killed two individuals at a hydropower site, with two bodies recovered. Additionally, authorities evacuated 235 passengers in 38 vehicles at Sinthan Top due to severe weather. Schools outside municipal limits in Kishtwar and Doda were closed as a precaution.
