OXCCU Wins 2026 Startups 100 Sustainability Award for SAF Technology
OXCCU, an Oxford-based clean technology startup, has been awarded the 2026 Startups 100 Sustainability Award for its innovative sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technology, ranking fourth in the Startups 100 Index. The company, founded in 2021, utilizes a patented iron catalyst to convert captured CO₂ and green hydrogen into hydrocarbons, and plans to produce 10,000 tonnes of SAF annually before 2030 following a £20.75 million Series B funding round. The OX1 demonstration facility at London Oxford Airport has successfully operated for over 1,000 hours and has received ISCC CORSIA certification for trading compliant SAF.

OXCCU raised £20.75 million in Series B funding to scale its technology and plans to produce 10,000 tonnes of SAF annually before 2030. Alkagesta has been awarded ISCC CORSIA certification, allowing it to trade CORSIA-eligible SAF and support airlines with compliant supply.
