OXCCU Wins 2026 Startups 100 Sustainability Award for SAF Technology

SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELHYDROGEN

OXCCU, a clean technology startup based in Oxford, won the 2026 Startups 100 Sustainability Award for its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technology, also ranking fourth in the 2026 Startups 100 Index. Founded in 2021, OXCCU converts captured CO₂ and green hydrogen into hydrocarbons using a patented iron catalyst, reducing costs and emissions.

The OX1 demonstration facility at London Oxford Airport has achieved over 1,000 operating hours. OXCCU raised £20.75 million in Series B funding to scale its technology and plans to produce 10,000 tonnes of SAF annually before 2030. Alkagesta has been awarded ISCC CORSIA certification, allowing it to trade CORSIA-eligible SAF and support airlines with compliant supply.
