Paju City Achieves KRW 80 Million Funding for Cleaning and Resource Recycling Efforts
Paju City has secured KRW 80 million in funding for cleaning and resource recycling after receiving high marks in external evaluations for 2025. The city was recognized as an excellent organization in the 'Renewing Korea' evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, earning KRW 50 million.
This evaluation assessed cleaning and environmental efforts of local governments nationwide. Paju City was praised for its field-oriented cleaning strategies, including enhanced environmental maintenance in residential areas, collection of abandoned waste, and collaboration with local organizations.
Additionally, Paju has been recognized for seven consecutive years in the Gyeonggi Province's 'Creating a Clean Gyeonggi' evaluation, obtaining an additional KRW 30 million. The city is also modernizing its environmental circulation center and developing a mini-hydrogen city to promote clean energy and reduce disposable product usage.
