ENERGY STORAGE

Panasonic's battery plant in De Soto, Kansas, is set to reach 50% production capacity in the coming months, with two new production lines being added. The construction of a second wing, which will house four additional production lines, has begun, with two expected to be operational by 2027.

The plant, which opened in July, aims to address customer demand, expanding its client base beyond Tesla. Currently employing approximately 1,400 workers, Panasonic projects a total workforce of 4,000 at full capacity. A hiring event for entry-level skilled machine technicians is planned for Thursday at Astra Enterprise Park in De Soto.
