Partnership to Enhance Antimony Mining and Smelting in Cedar City, Utah
American Tungsten and Antimony LTD partners with Cedar City to establish a smelting plant, aiming to boost domestic antimony production essential for electronics and defense. The project anticipates generating 150 jobs, addressing local economic needs while reducing reliance on foreign sources.

American Tungsten and Antimony LTD has partnered with Cedar City to establish a smelting plant, targeting a significant revival of antimony mining in the region. The project is set to refine antimony sourced from the company's claims in Garfield County, covering 375 acres.
The initiative is projected to create 150 jobs in a county with a population of 5,300, addressing recent job losses from local plant closures. The smelting facility must undergo a complete permitting process and comply with EPA regulations. This partnership could strengthen domestic mineral production, reducing dependence on imports from China, which currently supplies approximately 80% of the U.S.'s antimony needs.
