Pasadena Council Reviews $243.7 Million CIP for FY 2027-2031
The Pasadena City Council is considering a five-year Capital Improvement Program budget totaling $3.28 billion, with $243.7 million earmarked for specific projects in FY 2027. The funding focuses on carbon-free energy initiatives and infrastructure improvements.

The Pasadena City Council is set to review a proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget of $3,283,203,940 for FY 2027-2031, with $243,700,334 designated for 108 projects. Notably, Pasadena Water and Power plans to allocate approximately $793.7 million towards projects promoting carbon-free energy to achieve 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030.
Of this, $664 million is funded, while $129.7 million remains unfunded as sources are still being evaluated. Major projects include $90 million for a municipal solar program and various upgrades to energy storage and substation infrastructure. The meeting will feature department presentations focusing on transportation, parks, and community services, crucial for guiding future investment decisions.
