Paul Hébert Appointed CEO of NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines
Paul Hébert will assume the role of CEO at the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines starting May 11, 2026. This appointment comes as the North's mining sector gains prominence in the global critical minerals market.

The NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines has appointed Paul Hébert as its new CEO, effective May 11, 2026. The territories are positioned as key suppliers of critical minerals essential for the energy transition, including lithium, rare earth elements, and cobalt.
The Chamber collaborates with Indigenous communities, governments, and the mining industry to promote responsible project development, balancing economic growth with environmental protection. Currently, NWT operates two diamond mines, while Nunavut has three gold operations and an iron ore project, contributing significantly to the local economy. As demand for these minerals rises, Hébert's leadership may influence the trajectory of mining in the region.
