Pax Silica Hub in New Clark City Attracts Investors Amid High Power Demand
The Pax Silica hub in New Clark City anticipates a power requirement of at least 5 gigawatts, prompting interest from both local and foreign investors, including Maharlika Investment Corp. and I Squared Capital. The project aims to position the Philippines as a leading center for AI and semiconductor industries by 2028.

The planned Pax Silica hub in New Clark City is expected to require at least 5 gigawatts of electricity, leading the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to explore external power sourcing options. Maharlika Investment Corp. seeks to support power supply initiatives and is also involved in a solar and battery storage project with Acwa Power.
I Squared Capital, originally proposing a jet fuel pipeline, is now considering a liquefied natural gas pipeline to meet the hub's energy demands. The Philippine government is prioritizing the development of the country as an AI and semiconductor hub, with over 50 companies expressing interest in Pax Silica, which will incorporate various advanced technology facilities. This initiative may significantly enhance the country's economic landscape and attract further investment.
