P.E.I. Government Seeks Interest for 10-50 MW Battery Energy Storage System
The P.E.I. government has issued an expression of interest for a battery energy storage system, seeking 10 to 50 megawatts of capacity. This initiative aims to provide up to eight hours of backup power to stabilize the electricity grid. Premier Rob Lantz indicated that the project's cost will depend on the required capacity and mentioned ongoing discussions with New Brunswick and Nova Scotia premiers regarding regional energy cooperation.
