Pertamina Group Forms MoU for Low-Carbon Maritime Ecosystem
PT Pertamina International Shipping and PT PGN have signed a MoU to enhance low-carbon maritime transportation, focusing on LNG, ammonia, and hydrogen. This partnership aims to optimize value for Pertamina Group and strengthen national energy resilience.

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) and PT PGN (Persero) Tbk have executed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop infrastructure and maritime transportation for low-carbon fuels, including LNG and hydrogen. The MoU was signed by PIS's CEO Surya Tri Harto and PGN's CEO Arief Kurnia Risdianto, with a commitment to evaluate investment options to mitigate market price risks.
Since 2024, PIS has performed 17 LNG shipments for PGN under a spot charter. The collaboration will further strengthen the Pertamina Group’s energy infrastructure and enhance the maritime fleet's capability, addressing the increasing demand for LNG. This strategic partnership is expected to fortify national energy security.
