Pescadero Initiates $34M Fire Station Construction to Mitigate Flood Risks
Pescadero has commenced the construction of a new fire station, costing $34 million, to address safety concerns linked to flooding. This facility aims to enhance emergency response capabilities and resilience against power outages.

Construction on a new fire station in Pescadero, costing $34 million, has begun. The 12,000-square-foot facility will be located at 340 Butano Cutoff, on higher ground, replacing a 1957 building on Pescadero Creek Road that has frequently flooded.
The new station will feature a solar-powered microgrid and a backup power system capable of sustaining operations during prolonged outages. Construction will include site preparation, grading, and perimeter fencing, with the project expected to continue into 2027.
Substantial completion is anticipated by late summer 2027, and a formal groundbreaking ceremony will be announced shortly. This development enhances local emergency response infrastructure and mitigates future flood risks.
