Philippines Advances First Offshore Wind Project for Energy Security
The Philippine government, led by Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, is prioritizing the San Miguel Bay offshore wind project, targeting 901 MW capacity. This initiative aims to enhance renewable energy investments and long-term energy security in the region.

The Philippines is set to develop its first offshore wind farm, the San Miguel Bay project, with a capacity of 901 MW. This initiative, led by Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), aims to support the Philippine Energy Plan (PEP) 2023-2050, which targets a 35% renewable energy share in power generation by 2030.
The project is expected to create thousands of jobs and stimulate economic activity in Camarines Sur. Furthermore, it reinforces the Philippines' commitment to renewable energy and positions the country as a competitive destination for green investments, responding to increasing global demand for sustainable energy.
