Philippines Extends Importer Accreditation for Solar and Storage Sector
The Philippine government has extended importer accreditation for solar and energy storage from one year to three years, promoting efficiency in the sector. This change is expected to facilitate faster deployment of clean energy technologies and reduce operational costs for project developers.

The Bureau of Customs in the Philippines has amended Customs Administrative Order (CAO) No. 07-2022, extending importer accreditation validity from one year to three years. This adjustment aims to ease bureaucratic obstacles in the solar panels and energy storage sector, enhancing business operations.
The Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA) supports this change, stating it minimizes administrative delays and aligns with multi-year project cycles. This amendment is projected to lower importation costs and expedite renewable energy project development, positively impacting the local power supply.
