Pittsburgh and Edmonton Airports Sign Cooperation Agreement for Innovation and Sustainability
Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Edmonton International Airport (YEG) have established a five-year cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, sustainability, and passenger experience. This partnership will facilitate the exchange of innovative practices in areas such as microgrids, hydrogen technologies, and sustainable aviation fuels.

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Edmonton International Airport (YEG) have entered a five-year sister airport agreement to improve airport operations through shared best practices. PIT's advanced energy initiatives include a 23-megawatt microgrid and plans for onsite sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, aiming to create a multi-fuel clean energy ecosystem.
YEG is integrating hydrogen applications and has retrofitted equipment for dual-energy use. Both airports will explore innovative strategies to enhance economic development and passenger services, with potential implications for operational efficiency and environmental impact in the aviation sector.
