PLA Restructures Space Information Support Mission, Establishes Aerospace Information University
The PLA is reorganizing its space information support and assurance mission, shifting responsibilities from the Aerospace Force (ASF) to the Information Support Force (ISF). This transition aims to improve joint warfighting capabilities and reduce technological bottlenecks.
A key component of this restructuring is the establishment of the Aerospace Information University in Jinan, which will train personnel for both the ISF and commercial space sectors. The ISF will manage various aspects of space information support, although not all units will be transitioned from the ASF. The changes align with the Chinese Communist Party's 15th Five-Year Plan goals and are part of a broader strategy for air-space-ground integration.
