Plainfield Plan Commission Approves Data Center Proposal by Radius Data Centers

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The Plainfield Plan Commission approved a primary plat petition for a proposed data center by Radius Data Centers, which plans to construct two 100,000 square foot facilities, AllPoints 18 and 19. The decision was made despite opposition from residents concerned about electricity usage, taxpayer subsidies, water consumption, and potential contamination.

The project aims to feature architecturally compatible precast structures, minimize traffic, and use a closed-loop cooling system. The Town of Plainfield assesses developments against community goals and infrastructure impacts. The certification will be reviewed by the Town Council on January 12 for final approval or denial.
