Plastics Industry Supports Trump's Focus on U.S. Manufacturing and Recycling Infrastructure
The plastics industry is encouraged by President Trump's focus on strengthening U.S. manufacturing, as stated in his State of the Union address. Ross Eisenberg, president of America's Plastic Makers, emphasized the importance of modernizing recycling infrastructure to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities.
The industry supports over five million jobs and contributes more than $1 trillion to the economy. Eisenberg highlighted two bills before Congress, the Recycling Technology Innovation Act and the Recycled Materials Attribution Act, which aim to improve recycling systems and create national standards for recycled content. He stated that effective policies can bolster both manufacturing and recycling innovation in the U.S.
