STRATEGIC MINERALS

Hawkswood Service Station in Hailsham, East Sussex, has reopened after a redevelopment costing nearly £650,000. Acquired by Platinum Retail from Pricewatch Group, the site underwent extensive improvements, including the installation of a new canopy and larger fuel tanks to accommodate BP deliveries.

The forecourt closed in August and officially reopened on 18 December, with a new Morrisons Daily shop replacing the previous Nisa. Enhancements include new flooring, food-to-go installations, and modern refrigeration.

Platinum expects annual earnings of £500,000 from the site, with projected fuel sales of 80,000 liters per week. The investment is anticipated to reach maturity within 18 months.
