PLN Batam and DayOne Sign Major Data Center Agreement in Indonesia
A significant agreement between PT PLN Batam and PT Digitalland Service One (DayOne) focuses on the construction of a hyperscale data center in Batam, Indonesia, with an electricity purchase agreement for 511 MVA. This project is pivotal for positioning Batam as a leading digital investment hub in Southeast Asia and enhancing its infrastructure for global investors.

On April 17, 2026, PT PLN Batam and PT Digitalland Service One (DayOne) signed a substantial electricity purchase agreement to support a large-scale data center in Batam, Indonesia, with a capacity of 511 MVA. This development aims to supply energy to DayOne's new facility at Kabil Industrial Tech Park (KITP) from 2026 to 2027, reinforcing Batam's role as a key digital investment destination in Southeast Asia.
The project also includes a memorandum of understanding for the development of a solar power plant with over 200 MWp capacity, marking a commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Furthermore, this initiative aligns with the SIJORI model, integrating connectivity among Singapore, Johor, and Batam, thereby positioning Batam strategically in the regional digital economy. The anticipated impact includes job creation in technology sectors and enhanced digital sovereignty for Indonesia.
