Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the CSIR-NIIST Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Hub at Bio-360 Life Sciences Park in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on January 23. Established by CSIR-NIIST, the Hub will serve as a national centre for deep-tech innovation in life sciences, housing a Centre of Excellence in Ayurveda Research and focusing on spice incubation, coir and rubber technologies, sustainable packaging, biomanufacturing, and green hydrogen. The initiative aims to enhance scientific standardisation, quality assurance, and support startups, while promoting technology-driven processing in collaboration with agencies like the Spices Board to boost global competitiveness and farmer incomes.
