Polarise is set to build a 30 MW AI data center in Amberg, Bavaria, with plans to scale up to 120 MW by mid-2027. The facility will repurpose the site of a former shortwave transmitter, integrating modular AI Pods for quicker deployment compared to traditional data center construction.
The project will utilize renewable energy sources, including solar parks with a total capacity of 70 MW and plans for additional solar and wind installations. Initial investments are projected in the hundreds of millions of euros, excluding AI chip costs. This development aims to enhance Germany's AI infrastructure and competitiveness.
