Polysmart Packaging Limited is investing $60 million to build Nigeria's largest plastic recycling facility, set to be operational in two phases: the first by March 2026 and the final phase by July 2026. The facility will use advanced technologies, including the Sorema Plastic Recycling System and Tomra Sorting Solution, to produce food-grade recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET) and other materials.
This initiative aims to drive the circular economy, create numerous jobs, and reduce plastic pollution while supporting local industries. Polysmart emphasizes its commitment to sustainability and innovation in addressing environmental challenges.
