Port Arthur Community Action Network Discusses Impacts of Ammonia Projects at Community Meeting
The Port Arthur Community Action Network (PACAN) hosted a meeting to discuss the impacts of two ammonia projects and natural gas storage in southern Jefferson County. Approximately 40 residents attended to learn about civic action and engage with local officials. The projects include Chevron's Project Labrador and 8 Rivers Capital's Project Cormorant. Presentations from environmental activists highlighted broader health and economic issues. PACAN plans further meetings and the establishment of watchdog committees for project oversight.
