The Port of Klaipėda in Lithuania reported a record 39 million tonnes of cargo handled in 2025, marking a 22% increase in container throughput to 1.3 million TEU. Container handling grew by 29% to 13 million tonnes, driven by transshipment operations.
LNG volumes increased by 19% to 2.4 million tonnes, while ro-ro cargo rose by 6% to 6.5 million tonnes, with 353,759 vehicles transported. Vessel calls decreased by 3%, reflecting larger vessel sizes. Declines were noted in forestry products, scrap metal, and grain. Future plans include green hydrogen infrastructure and emission reduction initiatives.
