Port of Manzanillo Achieves Record Container Cargo Volume in Q1
The Port of Manzanillo reported a 2.9% rise in container cargo for Q1, reaching 1,007,594 TEUs. Exports increased by 9.1%, while imports saw a slight decline, indicating shifting trade dynamics.

In the first quarter, the Port of Manzanillo processed 1,007,594 TEUs, marking a 2.9% increase year-over-year. Exports constituted 45% of containerized cargo, growing by 9.1%, while imports represented 41%, down 1.1%.
Transshipment volumes fell to 14%, decreasing by 3.9%. Container boxes comprised 75% of commercial cargo, with mineral bulk transport accounting for 14%, primarily consisting of iron pellets and copper concentrate.
Agricultural bulk cargo, mainly soybeans and wheat, made up 7%, with general cargo at 4%, including machinery and fertilizers. This growth highlights the port's critical role in regional trade.
